How to Add a new Custom Field for Storing Password in Keap

Saqib Khan —

If you’re using the all new Keap, then you might have noticed that it doesn’t come with a default “Password” field, unlike Infusionsoft which has this password field as a default (or Standard) field. If you’re using Memberium then you’d first need to create a new field for password in Keap, where password of your users will be stored. In this article, we’ll take a look at how to add a new custom field for password in Keap.

Step 1: Open the Contact record

Login to your Keap account, and click on “Contacts” from left side. This would show all your contacts that you’ve added. Now, click on any one of the contact to open it.

Step 2: Add a new custom field

Once the contact opens, click on “Details” and scroll down and then click on “Customize contact details”.

From this page, you can add/remove custom fields, as well as even hide the Standard fields.

To add a new field for storing password, click on “Add a new field” from the heading under which you want to add this new password field. For example, if you’d like to add the password field under “Additional info” then scroll down to this field and then click on “Add a new field”.

On the next page, just type in a name of this new field and from the field type, select “Text” and click on Save field button.

Also you can find official documentation on creating custom field from here.

That’s all you need to do! Your brand new custom field for password is created in Keap but there’s still one last step remaining.

Step 3: Select the newly created field in Memberium settings

Go to Memberium > Settings and click on Login tab. From the Infusionsoft password field, select your newly created password field and hit the Update button.

If you’re unable to view this newly created field in the dropdown, then go to Memberium > Support and click on Dashboard tab and then hit the “Synchronize Infusionsoft” button. Once this is done, you should now be able to select this new custom field from Infusionsoft password field.

That’s it! If you haven’t already created a campaign for password generation, then you can go ahead and create it now. We also have a video tutorial on the same that you can check out from here.
